Sunday 11 September was a rest day for the players at the 2nd FIDE Women's Grand Prix in China, and judging from the photos at the official website they spent part of it in... Switzerland, or rather Shenzhen's own model version of the Swiss Interlaken. It seems to be a Chinese thing, as Shanghai, for instance, has a rather surreal miniature England: Thames Town. In any case, it looks as though the players enjoyed themselves:
Interlaken, China
Complete with an artifical lake...
...and an artificial cow.
Photo opportunity for some of the world's best female grandmasters
They also seem to have attended another theatrical performance
Chinese tea ceremony?
Posing in front of a ladybird
Anna Muzychuk is currently one of the three leaders...
...but still has a thing or two to learn about posing with ladybirds! The Shenzhen FIDE Women's Grand Prix resumes on Monday with Round 5 starting at 15:00 local time (09:00 CET).
