The world famous sporting/leisure resort of Tsakhkadzor in Armenia has today welcomed the members of the FIDE Presidential Council
The meeting in the "valley of flowers" (which is the translation of Shakhkadzor) is of great interest to the representatives of the SMI. And this is no surprise, as it is being held in the home of the triple Olympiad winners, where chess is loved by all.
One can judge the importance of this meeting from the fact that the Armenian President, Serge Sargsian, is taking part in it.

But the official part was preceded by a social meeting. Kirsan Nikolaevich and Serge Azatovich, together with state trainer Smbat Lputian, viewed a beautifully constructed stand, depicting the most important moments in the history of chess in Transcaucasia and of FIDE.
At a press conference for the Armenian SMI the FIDE President invited the assembled journalists to Baku for the 2015 World Cup and 2016 Olympiad, as guests of FIDE, so that they can watch the performance of the Armenian team in the Azeri capital.
